Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

Posted by tracy watkiss at 16:21 1 comments
Well I know its been a while since my last post and I may have to make it a new years resolution to post on here more, but I have been busy honest! Trying to plan for workshops, demos and surprises next year!

Somebody needs to remind me that there is still only 24 hours in any day!!!  I will never learn.

If you are a regular visitor to the shop/ blogs etc you may have noticed a little theme running, that I am the princess!!

This all started a couple of years ago at the Artstamps Exhibitions when we were laughing and joking about demanding people and I happened to say quite loudly - well honestly you think people would just know that I am "The Princess".  This progressed to a retreat one year where my Self and Lynn Courteney of Flutterby Crafts wore Tiaras to the evening meal - because we were princesses, Hence the joke carried on. This carried on when more recently Jill the Scrapbook tutor in Our shop did a layout of me on a demo day and titled it once upon a time there was a princess.

But Wait, Hang on!!   Karen and her lovely Hubby John have trumped you all.  Whilst out at our Christmas meal last week, Karen was giggling and produce a little pressie for me!!!

LOOK AT WHAT I GOT!!!!
 HEE HEE!!

Its a pink diamante princess cover for my Blackberry!!

I love it.

From then we decided that Karen Must be Queen as she often gets mistaken for my mum!
Which after reading her beautiful blog post today I have decided is oh so true!

Her Quilting projects this year have been fab - and
Obviously I have been working so much harder than her in the shop as I Have loads Of UFO's (unfinished objects) lying around me! and she has finished all those!!

I too would like to thank everybody who supports us in our adventure!!
Merry Christmas to you all.

Its Oh SO Quiet! - Bing Bong!

Posted by tracy watkiss at 11:56 1 comments
I know I am quiet on here lately but I just keep forgetting to post, I am busy making things though and its not all Cards - Shock HORROR!!

My winter evenings always see me wishing to hibernate and this year is going to be no exception and evenings sees me knitting. I have on the needles this very minute a lovely warm and cosy Aran jumper for myself. Just got the sleeves to go so will try to post images later.

The piccy I want to show you today though is a work in progress for me, I am slowly - very slowly learning to quilt.  I only get 2 hours maximum a week to put to this new skill, but I am enjoying it immensely.

At the moment I am making a Christmas table runner, and to make it even harder I have actually hand drawn the holly design I wanted to use for my decoration.  (Why make life easy for myself?)

The seed bead berries - where every seed is sewn on separately.

Till next time
Huge Hugs

Posted by tracy watkiss at 09:08 1 comments
I am so sorry this post is a tad late, I seem to be forever chasing my own tale lately, the online shop is getting busier and busier, as is the bricks and mortar shop.

Now I made both cards for todays challenges in plenty of time, just forgot to pop them on a post DOH!!
Went weight watchers last night another 1lb off (4 stone exactly gone for good)
Went swimming nice and early this morning (50 Lengths),
Shined my halo ------- then it slipped and realised the date, and that I had not done the blog posts, made my mums wedding anniversary cake, made the baby shower invites I promised my daughters friend or iced the cake I promised my mum! OOOPPPS!

Any how on to the first of todays challenges.

We had to follow a sketch set by Linda and she is offering an SU set of stamps too one lucky participant, why not pop on over and try your luck!
I used, A Christmas Humphrey Stamp, and a lovely Marianne die to do the snow effect.

Next up

The Theme was : Let it snow, Let it snow.

I decided to do a little Christmas decoration, a shaker wall hanging.

Topped off with a little humphrey christmas stamp xx

Off now to do some more of my to do list, catch you all later!

Posted by tracy watkiss at 21:31 0 comments
I am so sorry I have been missing from blogland recently, but I have been super busy with work life and private life just lately it kind of wore me down!

I have only just got back in the swing of things in the shop today,  after a demo for crafters companion at endsleigh last saturday, then travelling to and fro the midlands for a family funeral on Tuesday.

On my return I had the great news that I am now on the Demonstration and DT for WOW embossing powders. Some of you may recall me demoing them in the shop recently and heard me singing their praises, well I know lots of you are now loving them too.

I promise to be back soon with something pretty to show.

Tomorrow I am playing in the shop, showing off the new build a flower and paper kits from Crafts UK, why not pop in and say hello!!

Time for something completely different!

Posted by tracy watkiss at 13:59 2 comments
Crafting

I need to get some samples made today for WOW embossing powders, these powders are lovely and so many in the range, they will be coming to the shop soon!

What has that got to do with the image below, well if you look closely enough, you will see that the main focal beads are actually made out of watercolour cardstock, Green and Gold Embossing powder and a gold gem!!

It is teamed with a memory wire necklace and some green and gold seed beads.
You will not believe how light it is to wear!

Life

Dale is having a really bad day again, back wise, He is tryng really hard to have a normal day, but just to see him walk around is heart breaking, I have tried to get him to rest but he won't listen.
I fear he is going to keel over with every step!
So I have sooo much work to do today we have to stay in!  I hope that ploy works (its okay he does not read the blog).

Reading

Same as yesterday - good book for dieters to read!

Holiday from work and craft!

Posted by tracy watkiss at 21:15 1 comments
I know I have been missing a while, but I have been having a week away from the shop, Demos, workshops and crafting in general.  Just felt like I needed a little break.

Nothing booked or planned just time at home.  So What have I been upto??

Thursday : Zip, nadda nothing - stayed in bed till 9, then just chilled out and refused to do anything.

Friday: Gym at 7am for 40 minutes of rowing and then weights, home, shower and then off to Hope Cove to see friends on holiday from Newbury, we ended up going to Torquay with them and having Fish and chips in a pier side cafe (YUMMY!!) walked around for a bit and enjoyed an ice cream by the beach.
Then we took them around Cockington Village (arts and craft, heritage centre) some lovely work displayed, bumped into the girls from Hamble & Jemima there, they have just set up a unit on the site. We got home around 8.30 in the evening.

Saturday : Dale was getting pay back for walking too much yesterday, poor man, he was doubled up with the pain in his back. We stayed in.

Sunday: We thought we would go into town and enjoy the food flavour fest in Plymouth city centre, where I bought an easy yo yoghurt maker.  Then we had to get Dale some new shoes, no mean feet (excuse the pun), we have to find shoes not to heavy as the pain of walking and driving in normal shoes can be a major problem, then we have to try and get slip ons and sometimes he cannot bend to tie laces (he does not like me dressing him all the time on the bad days, independance and pig headed ness but also understandable.)  They also have to be Trendy/ fashionable.  We did eventually find some, but by this time, the limp was more pronounced and I could see the leg giving away more and more, so insisted we go home.

Monday: Gym in the morning , Dale still not good, so enforced prisonment to house.

Tuesday: Dale is stressed that having me home and not going out is mucking up my break, we decide to goto Looe we play the penny machines and buy fresh monkfish from the fish market - we are home by 12 noon. So he can rest. No such luck bad news about a relative sees him planning a visit to see his family in the midlands.

Wed: Home alone go to the gym and then home to chill.
Thurs: Swiming then home, to hear Dale is coming home tonight late after visiting his uncle in Hospital his mind is put to rest for NOW! Long term prognosis not good!

So not been crafting, Dales birthday tomorrow so hoping to spoli him for a bit, then maybe get some crafting in at the weekend.  If I do I promise to share.

Just needed to get it out, sorry.

Not for a challenge, not for work - Just for me

Kanban card and sentiment, Cuddly Buddly digi image and polys again!!

Crikey nearly a week gone by again - so sorry!!

Posted by tracy watkiss at 11:47 2 comments

I know I have not posted any pretties for a while, but quite frankly I lost the plot. My MOJO left me high and dry.

But then Yesterday I stood at the shop counter and coloured - Now I know cute is all the rage, but those of you that know me really well, will be well aware I am a sucker for roses!!
Always have, always will. Be it the actual flowers in the garden, papers, fabric, embellishments, ribbons, the chocolates (but thats another story) But mostly stamps, I have lost count of the amounts of rose stamps I have purchased over the years for myself and the shop, and this week was no
exception.

This week this little beauty came into the shop from Kanban its called Vintage rose.

At £4.99 its a snip.

So I set to work with my polychromas pencils and lost myself in my own little bubble.

Did a little bit of distressing and left it on the counter, whilst I  went for a stroll around blogland, where I chanced upon this months i{heart}2stamp challenge who have a sketch challenge this time around and a prize on offer. Please go check them out, I have said many times that we all need a little inspiration every now and then (or as I call it my fix).

Any who back to my card for the challenge.  I took the Stamped image, all coloured in an set to work with the new Melissa Frances 5th Avenue Papers. And followed the sketch, I am quite happy with this one even if I do say so myself. LOL!!

Everything on this card is available in Just Tracys Crafts (Bricks and Mortar shop) as of today!

Happy crafting

PolyChromos and Cuddly Buddly Challenge.

Posted by tracy watkiss at 14:17 4 comments

Oh my word I forgot all about Cuddly Buddly starting their own Challenge blog
which can be found here, go check out the DT work it is lovely and if you like Digi images, these are some of the best around.Well lucky for me I remembered this week.

This week you had to make a project with a charm on it.

So I thought I would give it a go, my card is below, with a little heart charm.
I used one of their Wee Digi Image - The Florist.

Now normally I am a copic / promarker girl all the way, but I forgot I had bought polychromos ages ago and thought I would break open the box for the first time ever!(Ahem - cough- cough)

Here is a close up

OOOOH ! I really liked the softness of these, this is my first attempt with them - couple of niggles but I have a new addiction LOL!!  (I did copic the face though).

Kept the rest of the card quite simple, sprayed the Kaiser flowers with Gold Glitter Spray from Crafters Companion.
Papers where from my stash.

I must also say a BIG THANKYOU to my buddy Jill Barber for all her help this week, whilst Karen had a well earned break.

Till next time Hugs.

Second card for today and this time for our very own challenge at

Keeping this post short and sweet as I am busy prepping for Newbury Artstamps and hoping this will be scheduled correctly to appear. (Famous last words!)

SO the challenge this months is

Summer Holidays

For me the Beach Holidays when I was growing up are some of my fondest memories.
so I wanted that to be the theme of my card below,

Please check out the other DT members cards as they are great.

I have used, Digi images from Mo Manning for all of my images, the sentiment is a digi from cuddly buddly
all coloured with copics and chalks.

That was that!

This months theme is a toughy

ONE FOR THE BOYS
well it would have been a toughy if I did not have the new stamps, hee hee.

Here is mine.

I used two of the new stamp sets to create this card

They are Jayne Nesterenkos New Adorables sets
Set 1 : Special Friend and Set 2: By the sea.
Coloured with promarkers and chalks.

Using stash cardstock, twine, eyelets and quick cutz die for the anchor to decorate up.

Inpirational card sketch for this week!

Posted by tracy watkiss at 11:40 4 comments

Well Hello, Its been a couple of days but I am frantically getting ready to do the Artstamps show at Newbury, but managed to fit in this quick card as a sample.
I did follow the sketch at Inspirationl Sketches this week as I really liked the simplicity of the sketch.

The DT work is fab as always, please go have a look.

So here is my take.

I have used a base 8 x 8 square card, some coredinations cardstock distressed at the edges for the layers along with some GCD Studios paper for the blue background, banner and ruffle.

Took Jayne Nesterenkos adorables stamps and stamped onto watercolour cardstock with, Rangers Vintage Photo ditress ink pad, then painted out with a wet brush.
 Finished off with 2 buttons.

OOPS - WAS I SUPPOSED TO BE WORKING???

Posted by tracy watkiss at 18:39 0 comments

Well Good Saturday Evening to you all, I have been having a day at home today,
I cannot really say a day off, as I am trying to get some samples made for Newbury Artstamps show next weekend.

But the day did not start to well, with Hubby dear yelling that we had no water, only to go outside and see halfway down our street, water was gushing up the main drains for South West Water.
Seems a main water pipe had burst - deep joy!

The water was off all day until about half an hour ago, now it is a lovely brown colour.

So what have I made today well, I am quite red faced to say - 2 cards, yep thats it, the fruit of my labours resulted in 2 cards, and one of those I cannot show you yet as it is my DT card for the Crafters Companion Challenge, next month.

The second card however I can show you, and I have played for sheer indulgence - forgot about the show work, no challenge, no workshop, no commission work, JUST FOR ME How lovely. Boy did I flow!

So here you go!

I took inspiration from all the nostalgia surrounding these new stamps from Jayne Nesterenko, I remembered my nan used to stand decorative plates on a stand like this so I made one out of cardstock, drew out the flower shape with my own fair hands, coloured with promarkers and chalks - added flowers, leaves and ribbon, and my viva decor paper pens added the pearly dots.

Hope you likey

Christmas Challenges with Sketches time again!!

Posted by tracy watkiss at 18:54 8 comments

Okay I am working on a theory that if I play along with this fabby sketch challenge every week, it will give me a goods heads up on my Christmas cards.

This weeks sketch had me scratching me head for abit,
and I moved the straight border at a rectangle to the three squares (funny did not notice till I posted it on here,)

pop on over to the challenge to see it and the DT lovely samples.

I need too finish it with a sentiment, but as always I will leave that till the last minute.

I have used a Milton & Co stamp coloured with promarkers,
Best Creations papers for the main background and Graphic 45 for the Dotty paper.
Just added some Holly buttons to finish.

Sizzix oval die and red high shine card.

till next time,

Tracy xxxx

Now for Todays actual post!!!

Posted by tracy watkiss at 15:19 5 comments

I know how cool is this, just like buses you wait all that time and then two come along at once.

I have played nice on our half day off today and joined in the fun over at

This weeks sketch is up, (if you click on the link above it will take you over there to see the sketch).

Well I started out fine and this card just grew and grew.

So much so, that the sketch turned out as the topper element to my card.
I hope I don't get disqualified LOL!!!!

I am not sure what the sponsor is offering as the prize this week, think Blogger has chopped that part of their post away, But I am sure it will be lovely.

So here is my card.

I have used a Crafters Companion Humphrey image - went slightly darker than the norm for these stamps this time in colouring with my copics.
Combined with K&Co papers from my stash and all faux stitching.

Hugs

Sketch Saturday on a Tuesday!!

Posted by tracy watkiss at 13:39 2 comments

Time waits for no man (woman) and I am no exception.

I have been trying to get this card up since Sunday.  Well today I finally had time to do it.

I love this weeks sketch at Sketch Saturday
The sponsor is offering oodles of digi images this week as the prize - go have a look, try your luck, someone has to win and you never know!!

Well I have been meaning to use the Whif of Joy Christmas Set for a while,
but other cards came about first and today I decided was the day.

I have mirrored the sketch and left the sentiment off as always until I decide who to give it too.
As well as this I wanted to frame my image more, so decided to invert my image as the base of the card and build up around it.

You can see the depth in this photo.

I used, whiff of joy stamps, coloured with promarkers, used distress inks for the floor and sky background.

Papers and card were in my stash and used my nesties. Oh and a Martha Stewart border punch.

Hugs till later

Cannot believe that it has been a week since I last posted and what a week it has been!

My eldest Daughter has been engaged to her childhood sweetheart for some time and has announced that she is getting married next year!  OOH I Cried buckets, but all tears of joy. More details will emerge once all the rellies have been told.

Onto my post for today and Yep I played nicely at 1.30am this morning when I could not sleep, I do like to craft in the wee small hours - but sshshing a guiloutine quiet, as trying not to wake up my hubby asleep in the next room is not easy. Never realised how much noise one makes until I needed to trim a bit of paper. OOPS!!

So what was I working on well my entry into this weeks ICSketches challenge.

This weeks sketch is below and up for grabs is 3 digi images from this weeks sponsor DZ Doodles.

So thought I would have ago.

Now I am not on my normal pooter, so could not crop this one down and need to be quick as I should now be working.

Hope you like it.

But I promise to get something pretty on here for tomorrow.

I have just been that busy, this weekend I was away at Edinburgh where I was helping out at the Artstamps Exhibition at the Corn Exchange.

On the Monday before the long journey home myself and Lynn Courteney went and visited Gretna green - I have to say it really was not what I was expecting and rather commercialised now.

Sadly there was no bridal party there on our visit.

But here is the resident piper.

The Anvil which when hit seals the wedding vows.

A lovely old carriage!!
